The locked room is a staple of the mystery and thriller genres. The idea that numerous characters are all stuck together while one of them hides a dark secret often makes for a solid setup to a tense story. It's clear that No Exit, the latest 20th Century Studios film to hit Hulu, wants to pay homage to these types of stories: the bulk of the movie takes place in one setting, and focuses mainly on just five characters.
