Bandai Namco's Digimon games have come a long way since the release of the Japan-exclusive Digital Monster Ver. S: Digimon Tamers in 1998. Between the Digimon World series, the Digimon Story series, and several other spin-off games, the IP includes dozens of entries. Digimon games have almost as long a history as the Pokemon games, yet Digimon never reached the same heights. Perhaps, the Digimon games need a new vision to expand its universe, and Digimon Survive could help the series gain some prominence.
