Of the recurring characters across Kirby's adventures, Meta Knight is perhaps the most iconic. King Dedede is the series' chief antagonist going back to Kirby's Dream Land in 1992, but Meta Knight's air of mystery has been prominent since Kirby's Adventure in 1993. He's an antagonist at times, known for spectacles such as the Battleship Halberd in Kirby Super Star, but has also been an ally in games like Kirby's Return to Dream Land. In HAL Laboratory's latest Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Meta Knight serves a more tertiary role.
