One of the perks of Destiny 2's longevity and the fact that it is a live service game is that players can expect the sandbox to change every few months, with the most powerful options at the time getting a bit of a hit and new options paving their way into the meta. This ever-shifting nature of weapons and abilities in Destiny 2 makes for interesting build choices for both PvE and PvP, but it's not uncommon for Bungie to nerf oversaturated niches, overperforming gun archetypes, or even Exotics.
