With the release of Persona 5 Strikers, many players new to the game may be wondering how to maximize their combat potential in battles. One of the key abilities that players will need to master as they progress through Persona 5 Strikers campaign is the Phantom Dash ability.
In the mainline Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royale titles, the Phantom Dash was primarily used as means of stealthily progressing through the game's palaces. While the ability's stealth capabilities are still present in Persona 5 Strikers, there are several other means of utilizing it that can be used to turn the tide in a difficult battle.

As players make their way through Persona 5 Striker's jails, they will occasionally see prompts on various objects within the environment. These prompts represent objects that the player can Phantom Dash to by pressing circle on the PS4 or A on the Nintendo Switch. When the player activates their Phantom Dash, they will quickly teleport to - or on top of - the environmental object.
Initially, the Phantom Dash is presented to players as a way to avoid enemies while traversing large open areas. Due to Persona 5 Strikers colorful visual aesthetic, sometimes it can be difficult to discern what objects the player can Phantom Dash to. To amend this, players can activate the Third Eye ability by pressing L2 on the PS4 or ZL on the Nintendo Switch. When the Third Eye is used, all of the environmental objects that the player can Phantom Dash to will be highlighted in green. This ability is especially useful, as there are also several objects later in Persona 5 Strikers campaign that players can Phantom Dash to that are only visible by using the Third Eye.
The second primary use for the Phantom Dash ability in Persona 5 Strikers is its combat applications. When the player Phantom Dashes to an object during combat, most will have some sort of action tied to them.
For example, if the player Phantom Dashes on top of a lamppost, they can then use an action to spin around the post, dealing damage to all the enemies around it. While the damage output of these attacks varies depending on the object, they are an effective means of clearing massive groups of enemies when the player begins to get overwhelmed. Additionally, players can increase the damage output of Phantom Dash attacks by purchasing the Phantom Striker Bond Skill.
Persona 5 Strikers can be a punishing game, however, if players are quick to master the core mechanics such as the Phantom Dash ability, they will have a much easier time later on.
Persona 5 Strikers is available now for PC, PS4, and Switch.
