When it comes to first-person shooters, Doom is practically synonymous with the genre and continues to inspire to this day. While Wolfenstein 3D helped birth the FPS, it was the 1993 follow-up that popularized it, taking it to new heights and making its developer, id Software, a household name in PC gaming. There was also the Doom game for the Nintendo 64 back in the 90s, unsurprisingly called Doom 64, and a new fan-made mod has just come out which aims to make sure this forgotten gem remains in the limelight.
