Ariana Greenblatt is the latest casting choice in Eli Roth's upcoming adaptation of the hit video game, Borderlands.

There ain't no rest for the wicked, especially for the ever-growing band of Vault Hunters in Eli Roth's Borderlands. Today, Lionsgate has announced the casting of Tiny Tina to be portrayed by young actress Ariana Greenblatt. Ariana's casting comes as the latest addition to the Borderlands movie as it continues its pre-production.

The news comes from Collider, which confirmed the story with Lionsgate. Following a casting search that spanned the globe, Ariana Greenblatt will be cast as the fan-favorite explosives expert, Tiny Tina. Tiny Tina first appeared in 2012's Borderlands 2, who then appeared in the subsequent installments Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 3. In the games, Tiny Tina serves as an ally to the vault hunters, assisting their quest for keys to the Vault, while also plotting her revenge. Having lost her parents to genetic experiments at the hands of Handsome Jack, she breaks free from her captors and pledges her revenge against those involved in her parent's death.

Ariana Greenblatt made a big debut in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War as young Gamora. Her appearance in one of the biggest movies in recent history kicked off her movie career, appearing in one film after the other. Ariana just wrapped up filming with the sci-fi thriller, 65, co-starring Adam Driver, and will soon appear in the musical In The Heights from Lin-Manuel Miranda. When approached for a statement, director Eli Roth responded with positivity, regarding Ariana's casting in Borderlands, calling her spectacular new talent that blew him and everyone else away in her audition. Roth is confident "she is going to blow up onscreen like one of Tina's grenades."

This latest casting announcement comes hot off the heals of Jack Black portraying the infamous loud-mouthed robot, ClapTrap, and Jamie-Lee Curtis as Doctor Patricia Tannis. What comes next is anyone's guess as the story is presumably set within the arc of the first game, but the movie could include the starring of popular villains such as Handsome Jack and Colonol Hector.

One concern is the lack of any casting of any of the voice actors behind the characters of the Borderlands games, which can be disheartening for some fans hoping for their favorite voices to have a chance on the big screen. The casting is shaping up well for Borderlands, but it is all up to scriptwriter Craig Mazin to come up with a script worthy of the expectations of fans.

Borderlands is currently in pre-production, with no details given on a release date.
