Binding of Isaac prequel, The Legend of Bum-bo receives a new update almost a year and a half after the games initial release.

Almost a year and a half after its release, The Legend of Bum-bo has finally received an update to add new characters, enemies, and items to the title. This comes after the game's creator Edmund McMillen commented on an update in November, with this update titled The Lost Expansion coming in to fulfill that promise.

The new expansion is available for free to any players who own The Legend of Bum-bo, and adds new features directly to the base version of the game. Any new players picking up the Binding of Isaac prequel will also receive The Lost Expansion with any purchases made since the update went live.

This new expansion brings three new bosses, like the Tainted Peeper, that can change up runs in the deckbuilding roguelike from what players might be used to in the original version of the game. Alongside the new enemies is a new playable character known as The Lost, who brings its own twist on the normal mechanics for players to experiment with. However, the update doesn't only cover new additions to the game, but similar to other Binding of Isaac updates also includes a number of bug and UI fixes, as well as some quality of life enhancements like a mid-game save and continue.

Altogether, The Lost Expansion is a substantial addition to The Legend of Bum-bo that should give players a whole new reason to jump into the roguelike gameplay. As for new players and fans of Binding of Isaac, many of the fixes and quality of life updates make this the best time to give the prequel a shot.

The Legend of Bum-bo is available now for PC and Switch.
