Many games need to be run on competent engines that help these titles unleash their full potential. While the game engines available to the public are pretty great to use in their own right, there are times when certain games need to be developed with in-house engines to allow for some truly unique gameplay that simply couldn't be possible on the otherwise common engines. Frostbite is one such engine developed by DICE that EA has acquired for use on all of their titles.
