This Call of Duty: Warzone streamer takes an artistic approach to Photoshop a nuclear blast into the background of an iconic Verdansk skyline.

Rumors have been circulating of a massive nuclear explosion coming to Call of Duty: Warzone in the near future. With undead on the shore and players scrambling for resources across the map, nuclear devastation becomes less of a rumor and more of a very possible reality. Call of Duty: Warzone may be looking at the largest map change seen to date, and one streamer decided to give players a glimpse into Verdansk's possible future.

Fans are not sure as to what will happen in Call of Duty: Warzone if a nuclear launch does occur. Players have discussed possibilities ranging from a post-apocalyptic map environment to Call of Duty: Warzone transporting players into the past. All possibilities currently remain viable, but this interesting timelapse makes the nuke a vivid visual reality.

In a video posted to Reddit by Valkia, the streamer starts with a screenshot of Call of Duty: Warzone's Verdansk overlooking the city. After applying a few filters, they find a reasonably sized image of an explosion and begin to layer it in the background of the city. With the explosion in the back, they color matched the sky and began to place layers to help present a realistic view of a nuclear blast. With that in place, they remove the game's UI and proceed to detailing the blast and making it fit within the city. With the blast in place, the streamer then adds proper lighting and a mix of distortion, resulting in a looking explosion photoshopped over the image of Verdansk.

In total, the process takes the streamer around 45 minutes of work. Fans in the comments are impressed at the streamer's dedication to presenting a realistic nuclear explosion in Call of Duty: Warzone. For many fans, the explosion looks authentic and could be easily mistaken as a screenshot from the game itself.

Some players did choose to critique the piece and ask about its realism, but Valkia took their comments in good taste and pointed out that he did this for fun. Although it may not be a real Call of Duty: Warzone nuclear explosion in the background, it has enough quality to confuse even veteran players who see the screenshot for the first time.

This is all in preparation for what many consider to be the next phase of the game. With nuclear warheads scattered across the map, it is only a matter of time before any of the Call of Duty: Warzone operators decide the mission is over and launch a missile.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
