For better and for worse, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is one of the most interesting entries in the franchise. Multiplayer continued the use of Specialists from Black Ops 3, but returned to a boots on the ground format, leading to a mode that was solid but felt like it was lacking some of Black Ops 3’s personality. Zombies received the most support it has ever gotten, getting four maps at launch, but unfortunately a rushed release meant the mode was full of bugs and lacked polish. Most intriguingly, Black Ops 4 had no campaign.
