Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most extensive and detailed open world games ever created. With stunning environments, wonderful ambience, and memorable encounters with various NPCs, Red Dead Redemption 2 certainly has a lot for players to see and do within the game. However, for those who have exhausted everything there is to do in the game, there's a mod that adds a substantial amount of new content.
For those who have been playing the game non-stop since it first launched on consoles two years ago, it's safe to say that players have encountered the vast majority of content that Red Dead 2 had intended for players to see. With the bulk of new content releasing in the form of Red Dead Online, there presumably isn't much more for the story mode to offer players.

However, for those enjoying the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2, there are quite a number of compatible mods for players to utilize, including Bolmin’s Gunsmith Business. This mod actually serves as a side campaign/activity that allows the player to purchase and manage a gunsmith business in one of several different regions of Red Dead 2's map.
It starts by having the player purchase a gunsmith establishment in either Saint Denis, Valentine, or Annesburg. It should be noted that the player can only own one gunsmith at a time. At which point, the game turns into a kind of resource management game somewhat similar to Spiritfarer, where players have to manage their budget, decide how much to sell their product for, and how much money the staff gets paid. All of these factors affect the player's reputation, and dips in reputation can lead to bandit attacks.
Compared to other mods available for the PC version, this mod actually changes the game up in a pretty significant way. Most PC mods for games consist primarily of cosmetic mods, such as a Red Dead Redemption 2 mod that lets the player be any animal or NPC they want. Though, with the gunsmith business mod, it almost allows for unofficial story content for players to enjoy.
Considering how much additional solo content has been added for Red Dead Online, it seems unlikely that the game will be receiving any sort of story-based DLC campaign. Luckily, mods like this are able to add so much more to the story mode and build upon the mechanics founded in the initial game in extremely creative ways. Players should certainly keep their eye out for these kinds of mods.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
