Cartoon Network is the king of making children's shows that are just as entertaining for adults. They do this by adding some spicy humor only they understand without making it uncomfortable for the kids, mostly because they don't even notice.

But fans of the Powerpuff Girls will know, that sometimes it doesn't even seem like a show for children, and some risky lines surprise even the best of us. This is mainly because creators didn't intend this show to be only for children, so they don't shy away from dicey lines. This is just one more reason to fall in love with the show as an adult, and as a child as well.
10 "Someday We'll Be As Developed As You!" - Bubbles
Although it's not in the original series, this Cartoon Network commercial Super Friends and the Powerpuff Girls perfectly displayed every little girls' dream. Who didn't want to be Wonder Woman when they grow up?
It's okay to dream, and Bubbles perfectly displayed this childhood dream with that cute honest smile and hope in her eyes. After this iconic line, the Legion of Doom bursts out laughing, as it's clearly a well-hidden innuendo that only the adults in the room catch.
9 "Squirrels Eat Nuts, Stupid" - Bubbles
Another iconic Bubbles quote. Her naive humor always catches adults off guard, and in the episode Stray Bullet, when the girls find a squirrel and insist on naming it, this iconic line is thrown in the mix, and the adults can't help but laugh out loud every time.
When Blossom and Bubbles want to name the squirrel either Lady Josephine or Miss Fluffy, Buttercup, as the tomboy she is, suggests, that it should be named Bruce because they can't know for sure whether it's a girl or a boy. After a long fight about the subject, Bubbles finally blurts out "Squirrels eat nuts, stupid!" making the scene one of the most memorable in the show.
8 "Why Shouldn't You Put A Toaster In A Bathtub?" - Blossom
This scene definitely deserved some smiles from adults, and maybe even taught a lesson to the children in the room... hopefully. In the episode Too Pooped to Puff, the girls try to motivate a crowd to defeat the monster themselves, without the help of the superhero trio.

When the crowd becomes confused as to how to do that, Bubbles notices that the monster is stuck in electrical wires, and hints, that using a little logic, it would be easy to destroy it. When the crowd doesn't understand what she means, Blossom hints further, by asking "Why shouldn't you put a toaster in the bathtub?" to which a proud man shouts "Because your toast would get soggy!" Classic Cartoon Network humor.
7 "I Remember When I Brought A Puppy Home To My Parents" - Professor Utonium
Everyone remembers their first stray animal "can I keep him?" that ended quickly in disappointment. If anyone remembers this like it was yesterday, it would be Professor Utonium. This was made clear in the episode Cat Man Do. No one expected that outburst of emotions when the Professor started reminiscing about what fun it was to be young and have a pet.
He recalled when he brought a puppy home to his parents, and continued by asking the girls "and do you know what they said?" quoting from the Powerpuff Girls transcript: "They said... (whirling around, red-faced, angry) ...NO!!" And although every adult can feel this pain as if it were their own, they still can't help but laugh at this outburst of childlike rage.
6 "None Of You Can Ever Hold Kitty!" - Professor Utonium
It's certain, that the Professor has some unresolved childhood traumas and maybe he should consult with a therapist. In the same episode as his outburst about not having a pet when he was young (Cat Man Do).
After hesitating for a second, the Professor agrees to keep Kitty, to which the girls rejoice. But this celebration is cut short when Bubbles reaches out to hold the cat, and the Professor snaps, saying "No! None of you can ever hold Kitty!" and maybe it's the element of surprise or the fact that the image of an accomplished Professor hanging on to a small white cat protectively is more than comical, but this scene deserves some laughs.
5 "I Now Understand Why Mojo's Always Robbing Banks" - Buttercup
At the beginning of the episode Moral Decay, the Professor hands each Puff a dollar as a way to teach them about responsibility and value. But Buttercup's reaction to this generous offer is just... pure spice. After Bubbles and Blossom kindly thank Professor for this gift, he turns to Buttercup, and her reaction is priceless.

"Thank you is not enough to express my gratitude! This is the first piece of currency that I've ever had, and it's all mine! All mine!" ... "Like it?! I love it! The feel! The taste! The smell, the power! I now understand why Mojo's always robbing banks!" Fans were surely not disappointed by this reaction from Buttercup.
4 "Don't Worry Professor. I Was An Accident Too" - Robin
The supporting character with the most memorable line, Robin served a deeply surprising comeback when Bubbles excitedly told the story about how they were made up in the Professor's lab by accident in the episode Superfriends.
Robin looks at the Professor, and without hesitation, offers a kind thought to break the ice. And it goes like this "Don't worry Professor. I was an accident too." Most children don't know what exactly this means (thankfully), but the parents were sure to have a big laugh when hearing this line for the first time.
3 "Scissors Beats Paper!" - Blossom
In the episode Curses, adults can't help but grin at the creators' humor, when the girls play rock, paper, scissors. As most people know, the direction when creating the limbs of the girls was to make the arms and legs look like socks filled with sand. And that's just what they look like.
So when they play rock, paper, scissors, and Blossom says "Scissors beat paper!" every adult laughed at the innocent design of these epic animation series. Whether it was a happy accident or a joke for the audience, it doesn't matter.
2 "Even If They're As Ugly As You" - Bubbles
Leave it to Bubbles to blurt out exactly what she thinks without taking a second to reconsider. And the fact that she doesn't do it to be humorous or disrespectful is the most adorable thing ever. Bubbles' quotes are exactly what a kindergartener sounds like, saying anything that comes to mind.
In Substitute Creature, the girls learn the important lesson of not judging someone by their appearance. When they realize, that the ugly monster, despite his looks truly loves children, the girls feel ashamed, and apologize, saying "I guess we shouldn't judge someone by what they look like." All's well, up until Blossom completes the apology with the snarky line "Even if they're as ugly as you."
1 "And Some Of These" - Buttercup
In Mommy Fearest, Professor Utonium is getting ready for a hot date, and the girls are psyched. As they help him get ready, they list all the things he might need. Hair gel, bow tie, cologne, breath mints, cufflinks, and... some of these?
Buttercup reaches to the Professor's breast pocket and puts something in it, but because her hand is empty, it's left to the viewers' imagination. And well, the adult fans can only think of one thing, and that's a risky innuendo. So many people have rumored said innuendo, that the episode's transcript found online even has a note under Buttercup's line about it. Leave it to Buttercup to serve these risky hints fearlessly, in a ladylike manner.
