A perceptive player shares a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Easter Egg that connects a popular map to another found in Modern Warfare 2.

More content was initially planned for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare than what made it into the game. The developers spent time carefully connecting the title to other games in the series, and fans have recently discovered an interesting map detail that went unnoticed. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare might be getting cycled out of rotation, but that does not mean there are even more secrets hidden within the game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set in the same world as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Several characters return, similar locations, and even map conversions make this connection evident to fans. Recently, one fan noticed an interesting link between a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare map and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that was previously secret.

In a Reddit post by LLIMIT, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fan realized the bridge trailing off from the 2019 Modern Warfare map "Invasion" is, in fact, Euphrates Bridge. This is the same bridge found in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the map by the same name. By going into spectator mode, players can travel to the other side of the bridge and spot several iconic locations. Although the textures are of lower quality, several of the buildings and streets match the chaotic map that fans remember Invasion containing. Corner stores, rooftop vantage points, and the overall layout of the city give the impression that this is the map that many players had spent hours battling it out on.

This realization has given many fans a burst of nostalgia. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 locations are some of the community's favorite maps to play on. While it is unknown why the developers chose to place players on the other side of the river, the fact that a previous battle is so close gives some fans a comforting memory.

Some community members theorize that it could be the start of a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Ground War map. The developers may have created the other side of the bridge in preparation for an eventual expansion into that territory. While many consider this an amazing Ground War opportunity, the map was never officially used.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans are now inspecting other maps to see if there are any other Easter Eggs that have gone unnoticed. With each map filled with possible details and references, there is no way to predict what the community could find next.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox series X/S.
