Fan Demake of Resident Evil Turns Capcom's Survival Horror Into a 16-Bit Genesis Title

A team of modders is working on a 16-bit demake of the original Resident Evil, with the project currently in its sixth year of development.

Over the past six years, a team of Resident Evil fans have been diligently working to create an even more retro-looking version of the original 1996 game, and it looks as though a demo of the project is due out soon. The idea of taking a modern game, or even an older one, and turning the clock back a few years has become fairly commonplace in the community. Recently, a modder showed what The Callisto Protocol would look like as a PS1 title. These "demakes" are a great experiment that show just how far the industry has come.
