The announcement of a new TMNT game supposedly modeled after the Norse God of War could make for a very different hero in a half shell.

Last week it was announced that a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game based on the 2020 comic miniseries The Last Ronin was actively in development. The announcement that TMNT: The Last Ronin would seek to borrow elements from the two God of War titles set in Norse mythology also served to drum up excitement for the title and set the bar high in terms of the level of quality the studio was aiming for. The saga of Kratos and Atreus that unfolded over 2018's God of War and last year's God of War: Ragnarok was one with plenty of emotional depth, and TMNT: The Last Ronin will be a much more mature tale than other games based on the TMNT franchise given its source material.
