Letterboxd is a site that has grown in popularity in recent years, as more and more movie lovers discover it and find a good place to record their thoughts on films. Letterboxd isn't a review site in the same way that Rotten Tomatoes is, in that while there are critics on Letterboxd, they have as much sway as any other user with a following, as the website is more of a social media site than any sort of official place for reviews. People don't usually use Letterboxd as the be-all and end-all of a movie's quality, but rather as a way to record their assorted thoughts and jokes about a film. It's the voice of the people, in a way, since anyone, amateur or otherwise, can make an account and give their own review of a movie.
