Sugimoto Saichi is the main character of the Golden Kamuy anime series. He is a veteran of the Russo-Japanese War who, after coming home, decides to find a way to make money for himself. Sugimoto learns of the lost Ainu riches and the 24 Abashiri criminals who have the maps leading to the wealth tattooed on their skin while he is on his way to making money.
