'Nobody' star Bob Odenkirk hilariously showed off some exaggerated effects of filming an intense action movie while on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Comedy actor turned action star Bob Odenkirk seems to be having the time of his life promoting his new film Nobody, and he recently took that energy to the socially distant set of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Hobbling out from behind the curtain with an almost too realistic "guy who just got beat up a bunch" look, the Better Call Saul star had plenty to say about his rather punishing new flick from Universal.

Slumping into Kimmel's guest chair, Odenkirk proudly proclaimed Nobody's status as the "number 1 movie in the country!" The newly minted action star really played into what was surely a painstakingly applied set of convincingly bloodied-up makeup, slurring his words and bragging about all of his injuries. It got to the point where it almost became difficult to tell what was real and what he was exaggerating for the bit, and for a seasoned comedy heavy hitter like Odenkirk, that was most likely by design.

"I did all my own fighting. That's the old way, right?," Odenkirk boasted to the audience while still maintaining the wincing persona of a man who just lost several teeth, as well as his pelvis (don't worry, he wasn't using it). While the spectacle may have been mainly for the gag, it's clear that he's not only genuinely proud of what he's accomplished with Nobody but also likely suffered from some real heavy hits on set, though probably not quite as heavy as the ones that would put him in the crutch-leaning state seen on Kimmel's show.

Once the bit ended and the two began the interview properly, Odenkirk transitioned seamlessly into the lovable fast talker everybody knows. It's a bit of a far cry from the intense assassin-turned-family man glimpsed in the short scene from Nobody at the beginning of the segment, which may have contributed to audiences showing up in droves for the film. Curiosity can be a powerful motivator. It certainly caught everyone by surprise with Nobody's first trailer. The rest of the talk between the two went the more traditional route, but Odenkirk's lingering post-fight makeup really added a surreal dimension to the whole thing.

Nobody stars Odenkirk as Hutch Mansell, a former killer who gets dragged back into his old life after an attack on his family. Coming from the creator of John Wick, it's not really surprising to see the similarities between the two films, but based on Nobody's respectable success so far, audiences don't seem to be particularly put off by repeated ideas. Plus, considering how Odenkirk handled his Kimmel interview, he obviously had fun with the role, and performances like that tend to be the most enjoyable to watch.

Best of luck to Nobody and Odenkirk as the year goes on. With vaccines going out around the country and people beginning to (hopefully cautiously) step back out into the world, a good old-fashioned action movie might be exactly what a lot of folks need after a year of pent-up frustrations.

Nobody is now playing in theaters.
