Here's Why the Destiny 2 Suited for Combat Seasonal Challenge Isn't Working

Many Destiny 2 players are having difficulty completing the Suited for Combat Seasonal Challenge, but there's a fix for the issue.

With Destiny 2's Season of the Chosen, Bungie has introduced Seasonal Challenges that give dedicated Guardians specific tasks to complete each week. The Destiny 2 Seasonal Challenges are designed in a way that the difficulty ramps up from one week to the next, and players who manage to complete the challenges are rewarded handsomely with massive XP boosts that will in turn make it easier for them to complete high-level activities. However, a recent Seasonal Challenge is giving Destiny 2 players some trouble, as it doesn't appear to be working properly.

For Season of the Chosen Week 9, Bungie has added a new Destiny 2 Seasonal Challenge called Suited for Combat. The exact test of the challenge states that Guardians need to "Defeat targets anywhere in the system with a full armor set. Bonus progress for defeating Guardians." Guardians are worth 10 points, so those playing Crucible or Gambit should theoretically be able to complete this challenge pretty quick. The problem is that the challenge's text is misleading and doesn't accurately describe what players have to do to complete it.

While the Suited for Combat challenge says that Destiny 2 players simply have to use a "full armor set" and kill enemies, they actually have to use a specific armor set. This is why many Destiny 2 players on various forums have reported that the Suited for Combat challenge is not working. It's not that it's not working, it's that they don't have the correct armor set equipped. What they need is an armor set from Season of the Chosen, and one specific armor set from Season of the Chosen at that.

To properly complete the Suited for Combat challenge in Destiny 2, players will want to equip the Praefectus armor. Players get the Praefectus armor through the Season Pass, but it's likely that they may have already dismantled some of the pieces they need for it. If so, they will want to focus Umbral engrams using the recaster at the HELM, as well as complete Battlegrounds activities in general.

By completing Battlegrounds activities and focusing Umbral engrams, Destiny 2 players should be able to get the Praefectus armor set back. Once they have the full set, they will need to equip a piece of Praefectus armor in every slot, and then they should be able to make progress toward the Suited for Combat challenge. It shouldn't take long at all, especially when doing Gambit matches, as players will have the chance to kill Guardians as well as regular enemies.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
