This guide will help players deal damage to opponents with The Recycler and complete a new Fortnite Season 6 Week 4 challenge.

Fortnite's Season 6 Week 4 challenges are now available, and players that are looking to earn some quick XP will undoubtedly want to complete them all. While most of these challenges have fairly straightforward instructions, there is one that may leave some fans slightly confused. Specifically, it is the challenge that asks players to deal damage to opponents with The Recycler in Fortnite, and this guide will explain exactly how that is done.

The first thing to know is that The Recycler is a two-handed heavy weapon that was added in the recent Fortnite update 16.11. It can be obtained from Chests and as floor loot, and players that are working on this challenge should simply keep their eyes on these sources as they go about their matches. Notably, fans can make things slightly easier by tackling this task in Team Rumble, though doing so is certainly not required.

Once a player obtains The Recycler in Fortnite, they can then proceed to the next phase of the challenge: using it to deal damage to opponents. This is a fairly straightforward process, as there is no trick to how the weapon is fired, and a total of 300 damage is required for completion of the task. Players will thus need to land four shots with The Recycler, and they should receive indication that they have finished the challenge and earned their XP reward as soon as that has been done.

To note, the way to obtain ammunition for The Recycler is slightly unique, and a bit of clarification may be helpful to those fans that are having trouble with this challenge. To put things simply, holding down the standard "aim down sights" input will cause the weapon to function like a vacuum that can suck up various environmental elements. This allows Fortnite players to convert objects like walls and trees into Recycler ammo, and the weapon can hold a maximum of three shots at once.

After scoring 300 damage with The Recycler, fans may want to move onto some of the other new challenges that are now live. For those players that want to stick to task that focus around dealing damage, this week's Legendary Quest, which requires the use of Primal Weapons in Fortnite, may be a good next step. Alternatively, fans can switch gears and start setting structures on fire, reviving teammates, and using shockwave grenades or bows to send a shock to various wildlife.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
