The developer behind The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk is transforming its development process so they can develop AAA games simultaneously.

If you've been itching to replay The Witcher 3, hold off! Next-gen updates are on the way. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt PS5 and Xbox Series X next-gen updates will arrive sometime later this year.

The reminder broke from Radek Grabowski, the lead PR manager for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3. He took to Twitter with a quick "in case you missed it" update, saying that the next-generation update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be dropping during the second half of 2021.

CD Projekt Red previously announced that next-gen updates were on the way earlier this month, stating that the studio is looking to take full advantage of this gen's powerful hardware. Visual and technical improvements will be included in the update whenever it does arrive, including utilizing ray tracing and the impressively fast loading times of both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

The upcoming update will tackle the base game, the expansions, and all additional content that players have come to enjoy. The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is stunning in so many different ways. The combat is fascinating, the storyline is incredible, and traversing the countryside with Roach is a beautiful adventure. It was like a gift that never stopped giving. Taking that already amazing experience and making it even more so through the power of next-gen is going to be an incredible jump. It also gives me the excuse to play through this title for the billionth time.

No shame.

Are you excited for the next-gen updates for The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt? What other games are you hoping to see get a nice generational boost in the future? Sound off in the comment section below. Geralt would want you to!

Raptors have invaded Fortnite! As a part of Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 6 raptors, alongside other deadly critters, are prowling the island looking to devour any hapless players unlucky enough to cross their paths. The news comes alongside a big performance boost to the Switch version of the game and definitely lives up to the seaon's "Primal" moniker.

The extinct predators were previously teased when players began discovering egg nests scattered across the map. Those eggs have attached into full-grown, door-opening (not really...but who knows?) reptiles, and these equal opportunity killers will pounce on anyone unfortunate enough to enter their crosshairs. If that’s not scary enough, raptors always travel in pairs. Any Jurassic Park fan will tell you that it's never the raptor you see in front of you that does you in; it’s the one you didn’t even know was there.

Raptors aren’t the only beasts to worry about. Wolves and boars have joined the fray as well. Wolves are slightly less aggressive than raptors in that they will only attack if startled. If they do strike, you better watch out. Savvy players can entice the pups with meat to have them join your pack, or you can hunt them down to use their bones as crafting Primal versions of your basic weapons. Boars are shy and will either flee when disturbed or try to gore players. You can placate them by tossing vegetables for them to snack on.

Instead of running or fighting, how would you like to tame these predators instead? Craft the Hunter’s Cloak using materials gathered from hunting the newly added chickens and frogs which emits a scent that lulls any predator to your cause. Who doesn’t want to charge opposing players with a raptor at their side?

In addition to wild animals, Fortnite Season 6 also brings Lara Croft into the fold. How do you feel about facing down raptors in Fortnite? What other crossovers and additions would you like to see? Let us know in the comments!

Fortnite Season 6's 16.10 update patch has arrived, which introduces Raptors to the island while nerfing the powerful Primal Shotgun.

When Nintendo announced Super Mario 3D All-Stars, a compilation for Nintendo Switch that contains HD versions of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy, the developer stated that the collection would only be available until March 31, 2021. While just last year, Nintendo reconsidered the limited-time nature of Jump Rope Challenge, the gaming giant appears to be sticking to its guns with the Super Mario 3D All-Stars compilation, as well as the battle royale Super Mario Bros. 35., which has been free to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers since its launch in October.

We reached out to Nintendo to see if the company had reconsidered the delisting of these titles. In a statement provided to Game Informer by Nintendo today, the company confirmed that plans have not changed since the initial announcement.

"The physical version of Super Mario 3D All-Stars (released Sep. 18) will continue to be shipped to retailers and available for purchase through March 31, 2021 or while supplies last.

The Super Mario Bros. 35 game (released Oct. 1 as a free download for Nintendo Switch Online members) and the digital version of Super Mario 3D All-Stars will be available until March 31, 2021. After that date, Super Mario Bros. 35 will no longer be playable. Those who purchased the digital version of Super Mario 3D All-Stars will still be able to play or to redownload the game if it was deleted from their device."

Super Mario Bros. 35

If you've been holding off on trying out Super Mario Bros. 35, it seems that is a bit more of an urgent situation, as the game is set to completely shut down following the March 31 cutoff. At least with Super Mario 3D All-Stars, you can buy it up until that March 31 date, then continue playing it – and even redownloading it – for as long as you want. It also sounds as though you still might be able to find physical copies of Super Mario 3D All-Stars in stores after that date, as March 31 is the day Nintendo is going to cease shipments to retailers.

If you're curious about whether or not Super Mario 3D All-Stars is worth picking up, the answer is a qualified "yes." While it's awesome having HD versions of these three undeniable Mario classics on the Switch, these remasters do little more than bring the games forward with higher resolution. If that's all you're looking for, then by all means pick this collection up before it evaporates. For my in-depth impressions of the Super Mario 3D All-Stars compilation, head here.
