As Pokemon GO's Season of Legends wraps up, players will soon be able to experience the Season of Discovery, along with new Raid bosses and more.

Last November, Pokemon GO introduced a new Seasons mechanic as part of a massive GO Beyond update, which also added new Pokemon from the Kalos region, an unlocked level cap, changes to Mega Evolution, and more. Pokemon GO's Seasons change every three months, rotating Pokemon found in the wild, in Eggs, and in Raids, in addition to different seasonal in-game events with regular new content.

While November kicked off the Season of Celebration, Pokemon GO players are coming fresh off of the Season of Legends, which introduced all-new Legendary Pokemon like Xerneas, Yveltal, and the Therian Formes of Tornadus Thundurus, and Landorus. Now, set to feature the 5th-anniversary celebrations of Pokemon GO, the next Season in the game will be the Season of Discovery, brining along new Raid Bosses and much more.

The newest season is set to celebrate Pokemon GO's spirit of discovery, lasting from June 1 at 10am local time to September 1 at 10am local time. Starting June 1, the Legendary titans Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, will return once again and will be found in Legendary Raids until June 17. Niantic has teased that afterwards, a new surprise Pokemon is set to appear in 5-star Raids, though details on this Pokemon were not divulged.

Apart from Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, the official Pokemon GO website notes that "unexpected guests" will be start showing up in 5-star Raids. A change is also coming to Mega Raids, as throughout the Season of Discovery, Mega Raids are set to only feature one Mega Pokemon at a time, as opposed to multiple. Mega Lopunny is set to appear in Mega Raids from June 1 to June 8, while Mega Slowbro will make its Pokemon GO debut from June 8 to June 17, and Mega Gyarados will appear from June 17 to July 2. Raid bosses throughout the Season of Discovery are also set to feature special monsters from Pokemon GO Fest 2021 this July.

The Season of Discovery will also be changing Pokemon found in the wild, making monsters like Alolan Rattata, Magnemite, and Porygon appear more in cities, Bellsprout, Doduo, Skorupi, and more will appear in forests, Pokemon like Rhyhorn, Nosepass, and Dwebble, will appear more in mountainous areas, and Magikarp, Marill, Wailmer, and more will appear near bodies of water.

Additionally, Summer Form Deerling will be available in the Northern Hemisphere, while Winter Form Deerling will appear in the Southern Hemisphere, along with other season-specific Pokemon. The Season of Discovery is set to bring players new surprises and a lot to explore, so Pokemon GO fans are sure to have their hands full this Summer.
