All eyes are on Game Freak and The Pokemon Company upon Pokemon's 25th anniversary this year, specifically taking place in just a few days on February 27. The Pokemon Company has already announced a schedule of plans which include freebies, special virtual events, and more Pokemon-related goodies, but fans have noticed that one thing is missing: a Pokemon Direct presentation, which they expect to take place this Friday ahead of Pokemon Day.
While a variety of things could be shown off during a Pokemon Direct this week, fans are dead set on hoping for remakes of the 4th generation games Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, and as Pokemon Day rapidly approaches, supposed leaks and rumors surrounding the games have been spreading like wildfire. Now, one prominent Pokemon leaker has shared a mysterious sound bite that fans suspect to come from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes.

Over on Twitter, established Pokemon leaker Centro Pokemon LEAKS shared the link to a sound bite posted on Vocaroo, a voice recorder web app. When played, listeners can hear what sounds like a remix of the Legendary Pokemon Arceus' theme from Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Along with the remixed theme, it seems that classic Pokemon menu-selection sounds can also be heard, in addition to some more mysterious sound effects towards the end of the clip.
The Vocaroo link originates from a post on the image board 4chan, which has been known to leak information on Pokemon games in the past. The 4chan post was simply titled "RKS," a codename from Pokemon Sun and Moon that references the Legendary Arceus. The post simply reads, "See you on Friday :)... 2 Trailers," along with the Vocaroo link. When fans suspected that the sound bite was simply a fan-made remix of Arceus' theme, popular Pokemon music remixer Zame chimed in, saying that they haven't heard anything that sounds familiar, noting that the music sounds incredibly similar to the style of Pokemon composer, director, and producer Junichi Masuda.
Pokemon fans have noted that the song in the sound bite seems to use the exact sounds as music in the Sword and Shield games. As for the mysterious sound effects heard at the end of the clip, many have mentioned that they sound suspiciously like sound FX that might play during a trailer when revealing text, such as a release date or other information. While fans have argued that the sound bite is fake, saying that someone simply ripped the sound effects from another trailer, others argue that Game Freak could simply be reusing the old sounds in this new one.
It's worth noting that this new leak could coincide with a tweet made by Centro Pokemon, who teased that upcoming Diamond and Pearl remakes would contain an Arceus episode, similar to the Delta Episode in the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire remakes Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Regardless, as rumors and speculation run rampant, fans eagerly await the reveal of a Pokemon Direct presentation any moment now.
