There isn't much time left for players to take advantage of the Hoenn Celebration Event in Pokemon GO. This event increases the spawn rates of various Pokemon from the Hoenn region as well as features special tasks, raid bosses, and egg pools focused on Hoenn Pokemon.
One of the biggest parts of this Pokemon GO event is the Hoenn Collection Challenge. In order to complete this special challenge, players need to catch all of the Pokemon from a select list of Hoenn Pokemon they can find during the event.

While many of the Pokemon needed for this challenge can be found among the boosted spawn rates in the wild, others will need to be actively searched for. One of these Pokemon is the adorable Plusle.
Plusle is a pure Electric-type Pokemon introduced in the third generation of Pokemon. It served the role as one of the Pokemon considered to be "Pikachu clones" alongside the Pokemon Minun. The two were meant to serve as an example of one of the new mechanics introduced in the third generation, double battles. This is due to Plusle and Minun's abilities only benefiting when fighting alongside each other.
While Plusle isn't among those included in the increased Hoenn spawn pool for the Hoenn Celebration Event, it also doesn't appear in the 5 km egg pool or as a raid boss for the event. This may make it seem like it's impossible to find it, but players just need to complete a special task.
There are multiple event exclusive field research events players can get from spinning PokeStops during the Hoenn Celebration Event. Four of these event exclusive field research tasks award players with a special Pokemon encounter. Only one of these will give players a possible encounter with Plusle and that is the Catch Eleven Pokemon task.
In order to get this task, players just need to keep spinning PokeStops until they find the right task. Players only have until 8:00 pm in their local time on January 24th, 2021 to participate in the Hoenn Celebration Event and the Hoenn Collection Challenge. If players do complete the Collection Challenge, they will be awarded with three Silver Pinap berries, 5,000 XP, and one incense.
When catching Plusle, players do have a chance to catch it in its shiny form. Unlike many other shiny Pokemon though, the color changes of a shiny Plusle are more on the subtle side with its body being a slightly brighter yellow. Plusle is only weak to ground-type moves and resists steel, electric, and flying-type moves.
Pokemon GO is available now on Android and iOS.
