Dataminers for Fortnite have been scouring to figure out what to expect in the coming months for the battle royale, and reports are promising.

BioWare is teasing its latest Star Wars: The Old Republic livestream for the upcoming 6.3 update. With today's small teaser ahead of the streaming event and fans can't wait to see the continuation of the Darth Malgus arc

The official Star Wars: The Old Republic Twitter account shared a small teaser video, equipped with epic music and Malgus front and center. It also very much looks like we're finally getting the Dantooine Jedi Temple (which could be seen previously but not explored):

Tune in to our next #SWTOR livestream on Thursday, March 18th at 1:00pm CDT (6:00pm UTC) to learn more about Game Update 6.3!https://t.co/4xe7chgFRp pic.twitter.com/60eM1MiN6p

Personally, I'm excited to jet off to the Jedi Enclave to continue the Malgus narrative. This Sith Lord is a powerful human born under the name Veradun and was part of the empire during the time of the Great Galactic War and the Third Galactic War. He discovered his Force sensitivity and dark inclinations when he was a child living with his adoptive father. In his youth, he murdered a Twi'lek and was then sent to the Sith Academy to hone his skills. After falling in love with another Twi'lek, a slave named Eleena, he eventually dropped his birth name of Veradun and became Darth Malgus.

Given what we know of his impact on the Jedi Order, new content surrounding his arc in The Old Republic is exciting. It also didn't take long before fellow players got a little too excited and asked if Malgus will be a romance option or not. I mean, this is BioWare we're talking about.

We'll be learning soon enough what's on the way because the Star Wars: The Old Republic livestream is going down on March 18 at 1:00 p.m. Central. Are you excited to learn about new content? What are you hoping to see the most? Sound off with those Sith-worthy takes in the comment section below.

Hot Wheels is teaming up with Nintendo once more for a new Mario Kart Rainbow Road track because the pain and shame of this particular road in-game weren't enough. The new Rainbow Road Raceway kit is set to launch this May and its reveal? Weirdly veiled.

[Update 3/17/2021 at 4:10 p.m.]:

The Amazon listing was made in error. While that particular listing is invalid, the company did confirm to us that this same kit will be available to buy later this year. A Hot Wheels spokesperson tells Game Informer, "Hot Wheels new Mario Kart Rainbow Road track set was mistakenly posted for pre-sale on Amazon over the weekend. While we love to see fan excitement about the new product, it was listed in error. Customers who purchased it via pre-sale can receive a full refund by requesting one on Amazon. The Hot Wheels Mario Kart Rainbow Road track set will be available for purchase this summer, so fans can keep an eye out for more details in the coming months.”

With Mar10 day taking place on March 10, Nintendo shared a few ways to celebrate the iconic Super Mario franchise. While some additional merch was shared, the Rainbow Road Hot Wheels kit was nowhere to be seen until a few days later when the entire Raceway kit made its way onto Amazon with pre-orders now open.

According to the listing, the new Hot Wheels Mario Rainbow Road Raceway kit is slated to debut on May 29 and features "Mario and King Boo Karts" to enjoy. At retail value, the new playset runs at $119.99, but at the time this article was written the current listings are for outside sellers with a price tag of over $400.

If interested, don't rush to buy yet. It's possible the pre-order link went live prematurely and that additional sellers are looking to capitalize on the nostalgia of it. Since there has been no official announcement at this time, it's possible that if a Nintendo reveal does happen, that normal stock will become available. In the meantime, the die-cast vehicles from the beloved Mario Kart series are still available alongside some other great tracks as seen here

What do you think about a Rainbow Road Hot Wheels track? What other famous (or infamous) gaming tracks would you like to see Hot Wheels bring into the real world? Sony revealed Yuffie's addition to the Final Fantasy VII Remake previously with the PlayStation 5-exclusive Intergrade version. With updated visuals and the return of this highly energetic character, fans have been curious if this addition is a sign of more DLC to come. Unfortunately, at this time, that answer is no.

In a recent interview with Famitsu, game director Tetsuya Nomura mentioned that Intergrade was the focus because the team wanted to develop games for the new generation of PlayStation and be prepared for the changes the PS5 would require. Because of that, Intergrade, and Yuffie's inclusion, was the primary objective over DLC. At this time, there is no DLC planned, but that could change depending on what happens after the next part releases.

"Due to the Intergrade upgrade, it became necessary to separate Episode Yuffie as DLC," Nomura said. "However, the original purpose was to make the PS5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake, not to make DLC. Therefore, there are no additional plans for DLC at this time."

While the "could" hangs heavy, it's important to remember that there are no plans in place at this time for DLC. The creation of DLC, especially one with any substance, takes time. Even if that decision changes, said expansion wouldn't be arriving any time soon. We still don't know when Part 2 will be arriving and how many more parts will follow suit.

At this time, many are thinking that the Final Fantasy VII Remake will be three parts, but that could extend even further depending on how Square Enix decides to divvy up the story as a whole. On the one hand, the studio could release larger installments to match up with the first part that's already out, but that would mean far longer wait times between each part. The other option would be to opt into quick-fire releases with much shorter chunks of story.

It will be interesting to see when Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 launches and how much it will stay true to the original. The first part definitely added some different flair, but the heart of the experience captured what so many loved about Final Fantasy VII. If Part 2 is received well, future tie-ins could happen with the extended universe in the form of DLC. For now, the team's focus is on when the next part will arrive and the two mobile experiences with Ever Crisis and First Soldier

2021 has been a relatively slow year so far in terms of releases which is why we’re always happy to see new games on the horizon, big or small. Today, Sony rolled out the red carpet for a  selection of upcoming indie games heading to both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Some are brand new, others we already knew about and were updated with release dates and new trailers (such as Disco Elysium: The Final Cut). Here’s a round-up of Sony’s indie announcements.

Operation: Tango

Operation: Tango is a unique asymmetrical co-op game we first learned about last year. What we didn't know then is that the game is coming to PS5 and features cross-play with PS4. Two players assume the roles of Angel, a secret agent, and Alister, a hacker who must work together to infiltrate and explore various maps. Since Angel is on the ground, her view of an area is much different than Alister’s, who can only see a digital variant of it. Thus, players must verbally communicate in order to successfully navigate the world and help each other out. While Angel physically explores the world, Alister is busy hacking security systems and gathering information to make Angel’s life a lot easier. Scenarios include high-speed chases and break-ins, all in the name of saving the near-futuristic world from peril. It’s a neat idea with a lot of style, and we’ll see how the mission concludes when Operation: Tango launches sometime this spring for PS5, PS4, and PC.

Chicory: A Colorful Tale

This adorable title arrives this spring and comes from the makers of Wandersong. Players are bestowed with a magic paintbrush used to bring color to the coloring book-like world. The fun mechanic also has traversal and puzzle-solving applications, like placing objects to cross gaps or creating a river of color to swim across ala Splatoon. Players can draw on anything and decorate areas with objects, and whatever you create remains persistent. You can revisit old areas and find your custom creations still intact. Chicory is all about letting players unwind and minimizing frustration. For examples, players can use an in-game phone to call their mother for reminders on the task at hand and specific directions to their next goal. Much like indulging a real coloring book, Chicory: A Colorful Tale looks like the perfect creative chill pill. It launches this Spring for PS4 and PS5 as well as PC.

Nour: Play With Your Food

Any toddler or rambunctious high-schooler will tell you that playing with your food is as fun as eating it, and Nour let’s player do it in style. This strange title lets players sling around various dishes by not only pressing buttons, but also blowing into the DualSense microphone as well as singing into it. An adaptive soundtrack matches beats and tones to the food on screen. Introduce a slice of bread, and you’ll add another musical element, like a flute or a piano. The idea is that you’re creating music and playing through various rhythm sequences. It’s a goofy game, and it’ll be served up to PS5 and PC players this summer.

Where The Heart Leads

We last heard from Where the Heart Leads back in December, and we now know the surreal adventure game is heading to PS5 as well as PS4. Best of all, we got a release date: July 13. The game comes from Armature Studios and centers on a man who gains the ability to revisit and alter key moments of his life. Expect to make a lot of big decisions that will not only impact you but your friends and family too. The game sports a number of branching paths, so at least you’ll be able to take different paths in future playthrough if your choice don’t pan out the way you hoped.

Puzzling Places

PlayStation VR owners itching for some VR-puzzle-solving have this to look forward to. The game is best described as a 3D jigsaw puzzle. Players assemble pieces of fully 3D landscapes, like boats, castles, and entire city squares. Since the game involves a lot of rotating perspectives, it’s a perfect fit for VR. Puzzling Places has been available on Oculus and comes to PSVR this winter.

Heavenly Bodies

We’ve known for a while that Heavenly Bodies is about wrangling two cosmonauts though a physically simulated, zero-gravity space station. What we didn’t know was how the actual game played out, but we got a clearer idea in a new trailer. By manually controlling each limb, players must find a way to assemble satellites to establish contact with home base. We also see the pair of explorers also work together to somewhat awkwardly pilot a craft used to drill into asteroids. Since you’re trying to fight against weightlessness to get things done, Heavenly Bodies lends itself to some goofy fun. We still don’t have an exact release date but it’s scheduled to arrive later this year for PS5 and PS4.

Friendships come and go, but memes? Memes last forever. That's especially true for the team over at Xbox because not only is their social media team on fire with its meme game, but the company itself isn't afraid to get a little weird for a new promo. Case and point? The Xbox Series X fridge Microsoft debuted last year. We thought that was the end of that, but no, Team Green is back with another kitchenware item: the Xbox mini-fridge.

The revelation of this glorious mini-fridge comes by way of WWE wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. He took to his Instagram to unbox a special delivery and what was inside will make those energy drinks quiver in excitement:

Do I need one of these? No. Do I aggressively want one? Mayyyybe.

This is just one of the ways that Microsoft has changed its entire strategy when looking at how Xbox fits into the bigger gaming picture. Between focusing more on its ecosystem's value to getting "hip with the kids" on TikTok, what Team Green is doing shows a smart pivot happening right now in the marketing scene. And you know what? Keep the memes coming, we can't take life too seriously all of the time.

What do you think about the Xbox mini-fridge? Funny gimmick? Desired household appliance? Sound off in the comment section below, Phil Spencer would want you to.
