Even when you're stranded on an alien planet, everyone needs home comforts. Here's how to craft a comfy place to sleep in Subnautica: Below Zero.

Subnautica: Below Zero received its full release on May 14, 2021, and keeps its core gameplay very similar to its acclaimed predecessor. One of the game's most notable changes, aside from the new arctic biomes, is improvements to the base building mechanics. The player now has far more options when building their base, helping them try and make the alien planet 4546B feel more like home.

No home is complete without a comfy bed, so players will be glad to see that there's an impressive range of ten different beds to choose from, as opposed to the original's measly three. However, players will have to work hard to get their comfort. The beds are all over the game's map and must be scanned before the player can craft them. For ease, the beds in this guide will be categorized by where to find and scan them.

Like cooking a good meal, there are a few items that players should have handy before getting started.

• Scanner - The scanner is one of Subnautica: Below Zero's most valuable items. It lets the protagonist, Robin, learn new blueprints for crafting, which is essential for progressing in the game. The scanner is required for learning each bed's blueprint and is constructed with 1x Battery and 1x Titanium at a Fabricator.

• Titanium - Speaking of Titanium, it is one of the two materials required for building beds. There are numerous places to find Titanium, including Rocks, Calaverite Outcrops, Limestone Outcrops, Argentite Outcrops, and Galena Outcrops. Players can also craft it from Metal Salvage and by scanning fragments for items that the player has already analyzed.

• Fiber Mesh - The second material required for building the bed itself is Fiber Mesh. It is crafted at a Fabricator with 2x Creepvine Sample, which players can obtain by cutting Creepvines with a knife.

• Habitat Builder - The Habitat Builder is used to craft the bed once the blueprint has been learned and the materials are obtained. It is crafted at a Fabricator with 1x Writing Kit, 1x Battery, and 1x Computer Chip. Like with the beds, players will first need to find scannable fragments of the Habitat Builder to understand how to build it. Fragments can be found in numerous places, including Delta Station, Twisty Bridges, Outpost Zero, Koppa Mining Site, and Tech Sites.

Outpost Zero was an Alterra Corporation base. The base was predominantly used for Alterra's Architect research and contains three basic beds.

Unfortunately, Subnautica: Below Zero doesn't have an in-game map, so finding specific locations such as Outspot Zero can be tricky. To find the base, head north of the Sparse Arctic until reaching a stretch of land above water. For PC players who want to use coordinates, they are -72 9 301.

The plain and simple Single Bed makes a return from the original Subnautica. It is constructed with 1x Titanium and 1x Fiber Mesh. Like every bed in the game, the player will need the Habitat Builder to craft it.

The blueprint for the Basic Double Bed will unlock once players scan the aforementioned Single Bed. The Basic Double Bed is crafted with 2x Titanium and 1x Fiber Mesh.

The Quilted Double Bed is also unlocked after scanning the Single Bed. It requires 2x Titanium and 1x Fiber Mesh craft.

The second location for finding beds is the Delta Station. The station is located on Delta Island, which is sat between the Thermal Spires, Tree Spires, and Purple Vents biomes. Its coordinates are -3 0 -678.

The Island is notable for containing the Communications Tower, which plays a pivotal role in one of the game's quests.

Emmanuel Desjardins is one of the Alterra Corporation's most senior figures. He clearly loves his job, as the workaholic dresses his bed with the company's logo.

Emmanuel's high rank seems to have a few perks, as he is the only character with a double bed. The bed is made with 2x Titanium and 1x Fiber Mesh.

Subnautica fans fondly remember Fred Lachance for his comical appearance in the trailer for Subnautica: Below Zero. As his bed design suggests, his role at Alterra Corporation was of a Seatruck Pilot. To build his bed, the player needs 1x Titanium and 1x Fiber Mesh.

Jeremiah Murgle is the Communication Tower's repairman. Crafting his bed requires 1x Titanium and 1x Fiber Mesh.

Parvan's bunker is located in the Glacial Basin; just a short walk away from the Frozen Leviathan.

Parvan Ivanov was a security officer for Alterra ,and was predominantly tasked with keeping an eye on the enormous Levithan just outside his door. The bunker's coordinates are -1604 19 -824.

Parvan was clearly a fan of the original Subnautica, as his bedsheets feature the nightmarish Ghost Leviathan from the first game. Parvan's bed is the only one in the area, and is crafted with 1x Titanium and 1x Fiber Mesh.

Much like Parvan's Base, the Phi Robotics Center is located in the Glacial Basin at the coordinates -1182 17 -654. Alterra's robotic research was conducted here, and the base is notable for featuring two Snowfox Hoverpads.

Sam Ayou was the sister of the protagonist, Robin Ayou. Learning what happened to Sam is one of the game's main quests, so finding her bed is a key moment in the story. Players can craft Sam's bed with 1x Titanium and 1x Fiber Mesh.

Zeta Landon was a colleague of Sam in the Robotic division, and provides one of the most artistic bed designs. To craft Zeta's bed, the player needs 1x Titanium and 1x Fiber Mesh.

For most players, the Omega Lab will be the base that they have the hardest time finding without using a guide. It lies in the Lilypad Islands biome, at the coordinates 560 -189 -1065. The Omega Lab was used for conducting research on the Kharaa Bacterium.

Danielle Valenti was one of the Frozen Leviathan researchers and had a brief relationship with Robin's sister, Sam Ayou. Her bed is constructed with 1x Titanium and 1x Fiber Mesh.
