In Path of Exile 2, Uncut Spirit Gems work like regular Uncut Skill Gems, but instead of giving a Skill they grant the player a choice of Persistent Skill Buffs. These Buffs are fuelled by Spirit, a new resource that can be reserved permanently to enable these permanent character buffs – and summon permanent minions.
