Players who think they've found every chest in Genshin Impact should check again, as some chests are able to respawns with extra loot.

With there being a lot to experience in Genshin Impact, players will often find various chests spread throughout the land. Many of these chests are filled with valuable items including rare artifacts that will help players throughout their journey. What some players may not know is that some of these chests have the ability to respawn.

Updated June 20, 2021 by Mina Smith: Genshin Impact is still managing to capture new fans as time marches on and it shows no signs of slowing down. There are so many things for veteran players to do and it's likely overwhelming for any new players that are just now starting their exploration through Genshin's massive free-to-play world. As Genshin Impact continues to grow and change, with new players starting characters every day, old articles will require some updating and editing to stay up-to-date, clear, and accurate. This article has been updated to include new information.

While some of the rarest types of chests cannot respawn in Genshin Impact, Common, Exquisite, and Luxurious chests will all respawn. The length it takes for chests to respawn in Genshin Impact depends on the chest's rarity, meaning players should mark down the locations of rarer chests so they don't forget them down the line. The only type of chest that won't respawn are precious chests. These have a wooden appearance with gold metal trimmings around the sides, so players have no reason to mark them.

Common chests are the easiest to find in both the overworld and in dungeons. They are mostly made of wood with a rounded top, and are held together with common metal. When opening them, they can provide zero-to-two Primogems, 20 Adventure Experience, one-to-three Sigils, a random amount of Mora, and random weapons, artifacts, or Character EXP boosters.

These not-so-rare chests will respawn randomly in the overworld after 4:00 a.m. server time, but in a limited number of possible locations. While the spoils of Common chests might be super helpful for new players, the stuff inside these chests is not usually worth going out of the way for. But if players are trying to farm as much Mora as possible in Genshin Impact, it may be worth getting as many of these chests as possible.

Exquisite chests are a bit rarer and will likely require players to perform some kind of action before opening them. They are also made of wood, but have a squared top. These chests have mostly the same rewards as a common chest, but can also provide an additional two-to-five Primogems, 20-to-30 Adventure Experience to help raise a player's Adventure Rank in Genshin Impact, and three-to-four Sigils. They also seem to have the same respawn patterns as common chests, respawning daily.

Finally, luxurious chests, like the Twining Isle Luxurious Chests, are some of the rarest players can find. They are white in color with golden trimming, and after players open them they will provide the usual chest rewards with the differences being 10-to-40 Primogems, 30-to-60 Adventure Experience, and four-to-ten Sigils.

These loot-filled chests have a chance to respawn after about three weeks have passed in real-time. Because of this, these chests are the best to mark on the map so players can revisit these locations regularly, perhaps getting to open these again after they have respawned.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, and is in development for Switch.
