A group of Call of Duty: Warzone players abandon the violence of the game's battle royale in favor of a motocross race using the game's dirt bikes.

Sometimes the most enjoyable aspects of online multiplayer games are the moments that aren't necessarily intended by the developers, moments where groups of friends get together and create their own fun. This is exactly what Call of Duty: Warzone players have been doing lately, with squads creating impromptu motocross races during their matches, ignoring the battle royale around them.

With season 4 of Warzone came the addition of dirt bikes to the game. Described as "terror on two wheels" by the developers in the season's patch notes, the bikes are the fastest vehicle in the game, and offer superior handling on tight turns. The bikes are scattered across Verdansk, and are accompanied by a number of other new features to Warzone, including new weapons and a fast travel system via large red doors on the map. While the bikes offer great maneuverability, they are one of the weakest road-going options in the game, with the same health as the ATV, making them a treacherous vehicle to get caught in.

For reddit user MrCabagge, he and his friends managed to secure a bike for each member of their four-squad, and the group head straight to the Kart Racing Track in southwestern Verdansk to set up a race. The gang laughed as they scooted around the tiny track, taking tight corners at high speed and attempting to push each other off course. The four of them had been "having a bad time in Warzone" and decided to race the new dirt bikes instead, having a great time until other players turned up to spoil the fun.

The party poopers likely heard the engines from a mile away and started to shoot the bikers from distance, firing at them until the crew had to take leave the track and take refuge behind a nearby train until they were taken down by the intruders. While MrCabbage lamented the incident, the squad did enjoy the race enough that MrCabbage put the idea out there for a motocross mode to be added to Call of Duty: Warzone, with many in the comments agreeing with the sentiment.

While the concept for the mode certainly seems fun as a potential event mode for Warzone, many have pointed out that the physics of the game's vehicles leave something to be desired. The handling of the new dirt bikes is definitely an improvement over some of the battle royale's other options, but would likely be troublesome if the mode were intended to be taken seriously. Having said that, crazy things have been accomplished with Warzone's dirt bikes already, and if the mode is just for fun among friends, a race around landmarks in Verdansk could be a great way to break up the game's battle royale gameplay, and offer something fresh to fans.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
