While there is no shortage of great Tracer cosplays, one fan’s portrayal of the Will o’ the Wisp skin is earning some well-deserved praise.

While the Overwatch universe is packed with standout characters, none are as well-known as the game’s mascot Tracer. As such, it is hardly a surprise that there are a lot of Overwatch fans who cosplay as her — though one has brought a particularly special look to life.

Most cosplays of Tracer adapt her default look, as her basic design is a lot of fun. It is also tough to nail down, as the character’s signature spiky hair takes some hard work to master. One Overwatch fan has gone a step further, however, as they have chosen to bring one of Tracer’s holiday cosmetics to life. Specifically, her Halloween skin has been brought into the real world, with fans able to see what the ghoulish Will o’ the Wisp Tracer would look like if she was not in a video game.

The special cosplay comes courtesy of nonbinate and captures every detail of the Halloween Terror skin. The ripped pants and shoes match the in-game version, while the leather straps on the leggings also line up. The chains are particularly cool, as the cosplayer’s arms and chest are adorned with them. Locks add to the look, while the open-mouthed pumpkin is unmissable. A big part of the original skin, the cosplayer does a stellar job of making the pumpkin look intimidating as opposed to goofy. Its teeth are terrifying, as is the blue glow emanating from its mouth.

Part of what has wowed the Overwatch community when it comes to this cosplay is how well the cosplayer captured Tracer’s skin. Instead of Lena’s usual pale color, her Will o’ the Wisp skin adds to the ghostly look by having her glow. Fortunately, nonbinate goes all in on this feature, painting their skin light blue. Some great makeup work helps the skin color stand out even more, while the look is complete with a teal-colored version of Tracer’s iconic hairstyle. With even the fan’s body type matching Tracer’s own, every single aspect of the costume works.

A particularly neat thing about this cosplay is that nobinate shared a before and after photo. As such, fans can get a good look at how much effort was put into the transformation, something that should put the cosplay’s greatness into perspective. Seeing nonbinate dressed normally also led to fans like SuggestiveMaterial requesting casual skins for Overwatch heroes, something that has always been on the player base’s wishlist. Throughout the rest of the comments, a lot of praise can be seen.

With Reddit users like Zkenny13 calling this one of the best Overwatch cosplays that they have ever seen, the response nonbinate has received thus far is incredible. While Halloween may still be a few months away, it seems like nonbinate made the right call by showing off this Tracer cosplay a bit early.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
