Many Monster Hunter fans out there have many reasons for enjoying Capcom's franchise but being able to customize their own character with armor, weapons, and accessories is one of the main draws. Even though the Monster Hunter Stories spin-off series is a JRPG and not so focused on online multiplayer, there are still plenty of customization options for Monster Hunter aficionados to sink their teeth into.

By using this short guide, players can find out how to change their character appearance in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.

Once players boot up Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, they will have the opportunity to create their own main character. Not only will they be able to choose gender, but they can customize the hairstyle, face shape, and plenty of other little details to truly make their character their own. One of the major options that players can't change later on in the game is the main character's gender. Once it's chosen, there is no going back, so players should be sure of their choice.

To change character appearance in Monster Hunter Stories 2, players can head to their home, which is their base of operations in all of the game's major hub areas. The player's home will appear as a house icon on the mini-map in the corner of the screen, and inside is a bed and a chest. By interacting with the bed, players can save their game progress, and interacting with the chest will open up the appearance menu.

Once the menu is open, players have several options. They can change their own appearance, or they can change the outfits for Navirou and Ena, two of the main characters of Monster Hunter Stories 2. If players choose to change their own appearance, they'll be dropped into the customization room. Hairstyles can be changed here, as well as makeup, armor color, and Layered Armor.

As mentioned previously, players can't change their gender after choosing it at the beginning of the game. However, players can still mess around with various options to make their character as unique as they would like to.

Now that players know how to change character appearance, they can go out into Monster Hunter Stories 2's world and collect eggs to hatch into powerful Monsties.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is now available for the Nintendo Switch and PC.
