Monster Hunter Stories 2 players might not know how to save their precious game data, but this guide will go over all of the options players have.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is a sub-series born from the mainline Monster Hunter franchise by Capcom. In this standalone sequel, players will customize their own Monster Rider and set off on a journey to discover the secrets of powerful baby Rathalos. Considering that this is a pretty lengthy JRPG, it'll certainly be good for players to learn how to save their game progress.

A player in Monster Hunter Stories 2 can spend lots of time grinding to level up their Monsties, and losing all of that precious save data would be terrible. Here's a guide all about how to save in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.

As far as saving goes, Monster Hunter Stories 2 is very lenient. Not only does the game auto-save after key moments, but there are also several opportunities and places for players to save their game. It's also worth noting that if a player loses all of their hearts during a  combat encounter, no game progress will be lost, but they'll be taken to the last main hub area, similar to the mainline Pokemon games. This way, boss encounters are less stressful and players don't have much to lose if they're defeated in battle.

The first method that players can use to save their game is by speaking to a Catavaner. These adorable Palicoes will appear in any town/city hub area and can save players' progress as well as give them access to fast travel so that players can quickly go to another Catavaner location. If players are having trouble finding one on the map, the Catavaners will be marked with a paw print icon. Choose to save data and there will be three different files to choose from.

Another way for Monster Hunter Stories 2 players to save their precious game data is by going over to their house. There will be a house for players at every main hub location and is easily spotted on the mini-map by its house icon. Once inside of their home, players can either interact with the bed to save game progress, or they can interact with a chest.

And by using this chest, players can change out their layered armor, customize their appearance, and even choose outfits for some of the game's major characters like Navirou and Ena.

Monster Hunter Stories 2 is now available on Nintendo Switch and PC.
