There are a number of weapons for players to obtain in Divinity Original Sin 2. The best weapons will largely depend on the members of the party, their chosen skills, and what overall strategy the player is going for.

That being said there are some weapons that provide the wielder with so much power they should be considered regardless. Whether it is unique abilities, skill boosts, or impressive damage, here are some of the more powerful weapons in this RPG.
Updated on July 15, 2021 by Ben Baker: Choosing the right weapon is tricky in an RPG like Divinity Original Sin 2 due to the sheer number of options. Not to mention they all behave differently based on the character’s stats, level, and build design. Recognizing this it seemed appropriate to include a few more options for the player to consider when choosing the best weapon. Not to mention some of this are obtainable a little sooner in the game. To help players better decide, this list has been updated to showcase even more options and information.
15 Fang Of The Winter Dragon
The Fang of The Winter Dragon is near Fort Joy on the South Southwest part of the island. There, players can find Slane The Chained Winter Dragon. Killing the dragon will yield the Fang Of The Winter Dragon, letting him live will prevent the player from getting this weapon.
Whether or not it’s worth killing the dragon is debatable, but if the player needs something viable at this point in the game it is a good option. It has a number of perks and bonuses along with the ever-useful Chilled effect.

14 Morning’s Light
Morning’s Light is obtained from the NPC Corbin Day either by freeing or killing him. Killing him isn’t ideal as he can upgrade weapons later in the game. It’s not the strongest weapon in the game, but it is one of the better bows that players can find.
Morning’s Light comes with some strong damage and some helpful bonuses and perks.
- 155% Critical Damage
- +2 Finesse
- +1 Ranged
- +1 Huntsman
- Cause Marked for two turns.
13 Eternal Stormblade
The Eternal Stormblade is hidden in the Murky Cave in Act 3. It is protected by four guardians who must be defeated prior to obtaining the sword. For such a difficult fight it’s surprisingly not one of the strongest weapons in the game. Players will probably want something better by Act 4.
Still it’s a decent weapon and might be worth having if only for Act 3. It comes with a number of perks and bonuses that can prove useful.

- 15% Critical Rate

- +3 Memory
- +6 Initiative
- 20% Stunned for two turns
- 10% Shocked for a turn.
12 Lohar’s Two-Handed Source Hammer
Lohar’s Two-Handed Source Hammer can be obtained after completing the quest Shadow Over Driftwood. Upon turning over Mordu’s Amulet Lohar will give the player this Hammer. It’s strong and is handy for brawler types for the mid-game.
A higher-than-average Critical Hit Rate is also great for occasional powerful bursts of damage. It comes with these benefits.

- 15% Cause Knocked Down for two turns.

11 Hanal Lechet
Hanal Lechet is a weapon that can be obtained in Act 2. While traveling along the Reaper’s Coast the player will come across an overturned carriage with a frightened Dwarf Woman who survived the incident. The weapon will be in one of the locked chests.
It may not have the greatest damage but the Frozen and Chilled effects make it a strong option for locking opponents down in a fight. It has a number of bonuses and effects.

- +1 Constitution
- +1 Two-Handed
- +1 Hydrosophist

10 The Illuminator
The Illuminator is a one-handed Mace dropped by Scapor during the Burning Pigs questline. Originally it was a torch that hung on the walls of the dungeon of the mad king Braccus Rex. Supposedly the atrocities it was near have had an effect on the torch imbuing it with dark power.
That power is the ability to cause both fire and physical damage when swung. It also comes with a +150% damage boost and a +5% chance of inflicting critical. Its main perks are a +1 to Pyrokinetic, a 50% chance of causing Necrofire, and a 10% chance of inflicting Burning.

9 Dumora Lam
Dumora Lam is a powerful wand locked in a runed chest in Dramahlihk’s home plane. Getting access to this realm requires Lohse in the party and Malady to be alive. If the player can disarm the traps and unlock the chest they’ll obtain a fantastic weapon.
It provides a +3 boost to Intelligence, +2 to Geomancer, and +1 to Dual Wielding. In addition to solid base damage is its poison manipulation properties. It can create a 1m pool of poison which is handy for Undead heroes. It can also remove poison using Siphon Poison to convert those pools into poison-based attacks.

8 Deiseis Riveil
Deiseis Riveil is a unique bow that can be bought from the Trader Non just outside the Cathedral. It deals a whopping 149 base physical damage with each strike. It can also ramp up that damage with a +5% chance of landing a critical and a +150% boost to critical damage, that’s a base damage of 372.5 for a critical hit!
It also comes with the ability Glitter Dust which makes it impossible for the enemy to go invisible and makes it harder for them to dodge. The bow also has a 25% chance of causing Bleeding for two turns and raises Cleave damage by 25%.

7 Voor D’Aravel
The Voor D’Aravel sword is hidden in an Ornate chest in The Arx in the Lizard Consulate’s Garden. It’s a perfect weapon for tank characters thanks to it’s Guardian Angel Skill ability. Guardian Angel causes 50% of the melee damage meant for allies to be redirected to the casting Hero.

In addition to acting as a shield for allies, it is capable of impressive damage. It has a base 99 physical damage with a nine base poison. It comes with a +3 boost to Strength, +2 Constitution, and +2 Warfare. To further the tank abilities it has a 25% chance of Taunting an opponent for two turns.

6 The Reckoning
The Reckoning is a two-handed mace dropped by The Hammer and what likely built her reputation. The hammer doesn’t possess any special abilities or perks, but in terms of raw damage, it’s hard to beat.
This is because it comes with a 150% boost to critical damage and a +2 bonus to Strength providing awesome damage to critical/strength-based warriors. It also comes with +2 to Intelligence and Necromancy which is good for Battlemage types. It’s a weapon that will carry the player long into the end game and keep the warrior holding it relevant as their companions become demigods.

5 Vord Emver
Vord Emver is a crossbow held by one of the minions of Karon during the quest Past Mistakes. It’s a powerful weapon dealing a whopping 208 base physical damage with 125 water damage on top of that. It also boosts Finesse by +3, +2 to Huntsman, and +1 to Ranged.
It comes with the handy Cryotherapy skill which removes frozen surfaces and converts them to Magic armor. It can also be used to remove Burning and Necrofire. The weapon also has a 20% chance to cause Frozen and improves Life Steal by 20%.

4 Lucian’s Divine Staff
This handy staff must be stolen from a chest in the Cathedral of Arx, but for some, it may be worth it. It deals decent enough water damage, but the perks are the main attraction of the weapon for Mages. With +3 to Intelligence, +2 Constitution, +2 Wits, +2 Hydrophist, and +6 Initiative, it makes the wielder very capable in combat.
It also has the abilities Healing Ritual and Staff of Magus. Healing Ritual fires a bolt of healing energy to nearby allies. Staff of Magus is basically a magical missile that allows the player to deal the staff’s base damage to distant enemies.

3 Domoh Dumora
This powerful dagger is stashed for some reason beneath a pet basket outside of Arhu’s Chambers in the Arx. In fact, it’s the best dagger in the game thanks to high physical damage, fire damage, and ability to inflict both Burning and Bleeding.

The dagger also comes with the ability, Terrifying Cruelty. It causes the dagger to deal 110% damage, inflict Bleeding for three turns, and causes the victim to be Terrified for a turn. Like any dagger it also permits Backstabbing for a guaranteed critical hit.

2 Swornbreaker
There are two Swornbreakers in the game as one can be found in the Vault of Linder Kemm and the other can be crafted at the Nameless Isle. It has a +3 to Strength, +3 Intelligence, and +2 to Necromancy. It also comes with a 20% boost to accuracy which is great for that 20% critical hit chance that causes +165% damage.
The main perk is the Swornbreaker ability which allows the player to break the pact with the God King without suffering any negative setbacks. The only reason this isn’t the best weapon in the game is that the Swornbreaker is unrepairable and once it breaks, it’s gone forever.

1 Falone Scythe
The most powerful weapon in Divinity Original Sin 2 is the Falone Scythe that can be stolen from the statue in the Arx Cathedral. It has impressive base damage that’s further boosted by +3 Strength and +1 Two-Handed. Each attack also has a 25% chance of inflicting Decaying for two turns.
It has excellent critical hit ability thanks to a 20% critical chance and a 260% boost to damage as a result. In addition to tremendous damage it has the abilities Living On The Edge and All In. All In is a heavy attack that deals 125% damage. Living On The Edge is the real prize and makes the wielder immune to death for two turns.
