After a great opening season, the MCU's Loki will be back for a second round. What comic storylines should appear in Loki's season 2?

Season 1 of Loki introduced MCU fans to a whole other side of the mischievous character. Although this version of Loki didn't personally go through the character's memorable events post-Avengers such as the death of Friga and Odin, the destruction of Asgard, and his fall at the hands of Thanos, the God of Mischief's experiences in this show led to a nicer and more nuanced interpretation.

Loki's development and the events that happen throughout the first season combine to create a series that is brimming with possibilities. Thankfully, the showrunners have a catalog of comic book source material to take inspiration from. These are some fan-favorite stories in the comics that need to make it in season 2.

8 Agent Of Asgard Storyline

The Agent of Asgard storyline takes the Loki character and transforms him into someone who wants to reform into a better person — a development the first season of Loki has already started.

The second season of Loki could use the Agent of Asgard's storyline that involves Loki working for an organization in exchange for erasing his past misdeeds. If there's a group in the Marvel universe that could do it, it would be the TVA. The comic mini-series also introduces Old Loki, a much more sinister version of Loki. This is another Loki variant fans would no doubt want to see on the small screen.

7 Kid Loki Becomes A Young Avenger

The Young Avengers: Style > Substance story tells a Loki story that intertwines with the Avengers once again. However, this time, it's with the Young Avengers, and Loki is working with them instead of against them.

This story belongs to Kid Loki, though, who has already made his MCU debut in the first season of the show. The storyline begins with Kid Loki manipulating the Young Avengers into working for him. However, Loki later grows and learns to trust and enjoy the company of his new compatriots.

6 Loki Rules From Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers

One of the most interesting things about the Loki series is it introduced various versions of Loki the viewers have never seen on screen before. Season 2 could explore this aspect further by debuting even more Loki variants. A version of Loki from the comics that can make season 2 interesting is one who actually accomplished the movie version's goal: take over Asgard.

The Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers mini-series is set in an alternate reality where Loki actually sits on the throne of Asgard and imprisoned Thor. It will be fascinating for the Loki on the show to meet a version of himself who actually succeeded where he failed.

5 Sylvie Vs. The Scarlet Witch

Loki's female variant in the show, Sylvie, seems to be an amalgamation of Lady Loki, Sylvie Lushton, and Amora. Sylvie and Amora both carry the Enchantress moniker, but the latter was the first and original version of the character.

Amora is much more ruthless and cunning. Interestingly, she has also had a couple of run-ins with the Scarlet Witch. The show could borrow inspiration from this mini rivalry and have Sylvie face-off against Wanda Maximoff. It's already known that Loki will make an appearance in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, who also happens to have the Scarlet Witch. This means Loki and Wanda will eventually meet. Who's to say Wanda won't make a cameo in season 2 of Loki to meet Sylvie as well?

4 Mobius Meets The Fantastic Four

Mobius is already a fan-favorite character in the MCU. His chemistry with Loki is palpable and he is undoubtedly likable. It should be a given at this point that the upcoming season will also use this character in a great capacity.

It's interesting to point out that the character's debut appearance in the comics wasn't in a Loki storyline but in one featuring the Fantastic Four. Mobius debuts in Fantastic Four #353 and prosecutes Marvel's first family for violating time laws. The second season of Loki could tease the Fantastic Four's debut in the MCU, much like how the first season helped build the grounds for Kang the Conqueror's MCU entrance.

3 Kang And Ravonna

A lot of people were convinced Kang would appear on Loki because of Ravonna Renslayer's presence. In the comics, Ravonna and Kang are lovers, and their romantic run is a notable event for both characters.

Now that both characters' places in the show are open-ended after season 1's cliffhanger, viewers could see Kang and Ravonna meet directly. Perhaps viewers will witness some spark brewing between the two in season 2, much like in the comics.

2 The Council Of Kangs

The notion of the Council of Kangs was already teased in the final episode of Loki, when He Who Remains explained how and why he created the TVA. He explained that various variants of himself simultaneously learned the existence of the multiverse, made contact with one another, then peace came along.

This sounds a lot like the Council of Kangs storyline, wherein different versions of Kang gathered to eliminate "incompetent" versions of them scattered throughout the multiverse. This group is led by Prime Kang, Nathaniel Richards.

1 Build Up Kang's Avengers Forever Storyline

Kang the Conqueror's place in the Marvel universe was cemented during the Avengers Forever mini-series. Avengers Forever explores the eternal rivalry between Kang the Conqueror and Immortus, the latter being the future version of the former.

Kang looks set to be the MCU's next "big bad." This storyline could be to Kang what the Infinity War story was for Thanos. Even though season 2 of Loki won't adapt the Avengers Forever story, the show can at least lay the groundwork for what is potentially Marvel's next massive crossover event.
