A riddle on Day 4 of NEO: The World Ends With You has players looking for "a dog's backside," but many fans will probably wonder what that means.

NEO: The World Ends With You tells the story of participants in the Reapers' Game. The narrative unfolds over the course of multiple days and weeks. On Day 4, Rindo and his crew need to seek help from the enigmatic Ryoji in order to make it further in the Reapers' Game. Doing so requires solving riddles that are very typical of the NEO: The World Ends With You experience. This guide will specifically help gamers solve the riddle of where to look for "a dog's backside" in NEO: The World Ends With You.

Some of the Day 4 riddles will be easier than others, especially for fans who were already familiar with the real-world Shibuya district. Solving these riddles is necessary because they conceal clues as to Ryoji's direct line contact number. These riddles are not simply presented to Rindo's party though - they are hidden throughout Shibuya. To get started, players need to find QR code stickers around town to receive the attached riddles.

Players will likely come across the "dog's backside" riddle after looking for a hole in the crossing. A spot-the-difference puzzle will have brought attention to the fact that a statue in the plaza west of Scramble Crossing depicts Hachiko the dog. With no other famous dogs worth noting in Shibuya, the obvious solution to the puzzle is to examine the backside of the dog statue. A short conversation afterward will make it clear that there's a bit more to this challenge.

It isn't enough to simply examine the backside of Hachiko the dog. To earn the clue associated with this riddle, players will have to pass a single-question quiz. Out of three choices, fans will have to answer which item is not served at Hachiko Cafe. Unlike challenges that players have to face during the search for sinful ramen and other riddles, this one is very easy to solve. A short visit to Hachiko Cafe east of Scramble Crossing will reveal that the menu does not include Milk Tea.

The riddle-solving and exploration are big changes from The World Ends With You that was released in 2007. Searching for clues in a three-dimensional rendition of Shibuya is not something that fans would have done in the original game. With other new features such as voice-acting and a modernized combat system, veterans of the series will be able to enjoy a fresh new experience. As the in-game days pass by and more puzzles arise to challenge Rindo, players will be immersed in the Reapers' Game like never before.

NEO: The World Ends With You is available now for PS4 and Switch. A PC version is currently in development.
