Character creators in RPGs like Fallout 4 can often have impressive results, with newer games offering a seemingly endless list of facial features and hairstyles, allowing players to manufacture monstrous creations or craft impeccable likenesses. In an attempt at the latter, one redditor has used Fallout 4's character creator to reconstruct Grand Theft Auto 5's notorious anti-hero Trevor Philips, to incredible effect.
Trevor is likely one of the better know characters in the GTA franchise. Featuring only in Rockstar's most recent game in the series, Trevor's foul-mouth and borderline psychopathic behavior have resulted in not only a whole host of GTA 5 memes surrounding the character, but some serious controversies. One story mission sees the character use torture to extract information from a man with terrorist ties, the graphic scene now serving as a moment of particular notoriety for an already contentious gaming franchise.

Perhaps another notable aspect of Trevor is his appearance. Often dirty and dishevelled, the character's pit-stained white t-shirt and dark, thinning hair are as much a part of him as his erratic behavior and use of expletives. Reddit user A-Shooting-Star has managed to capture Trevor's particular brand of unkempt, using Fallout 4's character creator to deftly depict his large nose and sunken eyes, with the white t-shirt present as well. While there have been a number of recreations of the character, with one fan reconstructing Trevor in Red Dead Online, this is certainly one of the closest depictions yet.
The most important aspect of the recreation is the tufts of dirty black hair atop his head, which manages to look identical to the scruffy mop of the original. While Trevor is mostly memorable for his dialog in GTA 5, his appearance is certainly a close second, with motion capture for the character provided by his voice actor, Steven Ogg. One comment pointed out that they could have made Fallout 4's Nora into Patricia Madrazo, a Cartel Leader's wife who Trevor falls for, which would have really rounded out the image; A-Shooting-Star had considered this, but boredom got the better of them after completing Trevor and they decided against it.
There is always something fun about recreations of characters in other games. Not only is it interesting to see someone like Trevor running amok in The Commonwealth (somewhere he would thrive, no doubt,) the limited tools of a character creator make it all the more impressive when the depiction looks accurate. While many would agree that GTA 6 should avoid trying to recreate Trevor, the uniqueness of the character certainly lends itself well to fan creations, and the post-apocalypse suits him well.
Fallout 4 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Grand Theft Auto 5 is available for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
