Polyphony Digital releases a new trailer for Gran Turismo 7 highlighting its various features, including an extensive car customization system.

Sony revealed a new trailer for the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 at the latest PlayStation Showcase event. This will be first time fans are seeing new footage for Gran Turismo 7 since its reveal trailer in June of last year.

Just last week, Sony had confirmed that anyone who purchases the PS4 version of GT7 will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for the price of $10. This announcement came as a result of fan backlash, which compelled Sony to offer the PS5 version of Horizon Forbidden West at no extra charge to anyone who purchases the PS4 version of the game. Fans now have access to an exciting new gameplay trailer that can help them make an informed purchasing decision.

In an unconventional manner, a sweeping Pipe Organ opens up the newest trailer for Gran Turismo 7. This is accompanied by various shots of cars and their components, before the going into the seemingly extensive cosmetic customization options that will be available in the game. It then highlights all of the features that are present in the photo mode of GT7, while also giving players a glimpse at the game’s menus. The final third of the trailer focuses on racing on various tracks, all of which look highly detailed.

The vistas and the lighting continue to look stunning throughout the video, but more importantly, it confirms that an in-depth car customization system will be a big part of GT7. The above trailer is a beautiful showcase of the game’s visuals as well as key features, and it does seem like Polyphony Digital will make good use of the extra time they received due to GT7 being delayed to 2022.

The presentation and editing of the video also deserve a special mention, and it further raises the already high appeal of GT7 for both fans and newcomers alike. With Sony confirming that Gran Turismo 7 will target 4K 60FPS, along with supporting HDR as well as ray tracing, it is bound to be a technical showpiece for the PS5 when it launches next year.

Gran Turismo 7 joins Horizon Forbidden West as marquee PlayStation exclusives in early 2022. The first quarter of 2022 is looking absolutely stacked for video games, with Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, Rainbow Six Extraction, Saints Row, and Elden Ring making up this list of noteworthy releases. Despite the fact that all of the above are cross-gen titles, fans that do purchase any next-generation console during this holiday season will have no shortage of new games to look forward to in the first few months of 2022.

Gran Turismo 7 will be released on March 4 2022 for PS4 and PS5.
