Over the last two years or so Magic: The Gathering has started celebrating the launch of many new sets with a high quality narrative cinematic (watch every past Magic trailer here). These trailers usually introduce at least one or two key characters or settings that will be an important part of each set’s lore and overall story.
Not every single set earns a trailer, but fans of Innistrad will be happy to hear that Midnight Hunt has made the cut. The game’s pre-release events are now available digitally and in some game shops around the world and Magic: The Gathering is celebrating with the release of an incredibly dark and moody trailer.

The trailer follows a young boy who is being forced to work at an orchard under an abusive human. The gothic aesthetic of Innistrad is on full display as fog and mist shroud the farmgrounds and packs of wild werewolves stalk around outside the walls...
Innistrad is obviously one of the darkest planes in the multiverse, both in terms of the story and the aesthetic, and it looks like Midnight Hunt won’t be tuning down that darkness in any way compared to previous visits to the plane. Innistrad is sticking to its horror roots and players should have plenty of dark and spooky cards to collect and play over the next few months while the fall set dominates the Limited and Standard formats.
Magic: The Gathering Innistrad Midnight Hunt is available now digitally on Magic Arena. The full paper release is September 24.
