Call of Duty: Warzone’s latest event is live right now, but it seems like a lot of players are disappointed in what The Numbers has to offer.

Call of Duty: Warzone has held plenty of events lately, ranging from The Hunt for Adler to The Destruction of Verdansk. Unfortunately, it seems like its latest event is a disappointment to many, as Call of Duty: Warzone fans are not pleased with The Numbers.

The Numbers event offers plenty of rewards, as there are nine challenges to complete in Call of Duty: Warzone. Another nine challenges are available in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, with the objectives ranging from earning 25,000 multiplayer score to winning a Demolition game. This makes 18 rewards in total, with a special Sai melee weapon unlocked for completing all the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War challenges or all the Call of Duty: Warzone ones.

However, while there are a lot more unlockable cosmetics in The Numbers than something like The Hunt for Adler event, players seem to be very disappointed by how these items are acquired. While Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s challenges are simple, they are varied, something that cannot be said for Call of Duty: Warzone. To get each item, players need to do the same exact thing on repeat, a mechanic that has led to Reddit user TheDudeofDudez starting a thread that calls the event “embarrassingly low effort.”

The player’s reason for this negativity comes down to the Number Stations that are so crucial to Call of Duty: Warzone’s version of The Numbers. Players simply run up to them, hold the interact button, and listen to some Numbers play. They then do this for all the other stations on the map in order to complete the rest of the challenges, with the only challenge being that they need to beat the other players there. Once players are finished turning on one of the Numbers Stations, this process needs to be repeated several times, with each activated station provided nothing more than a bit of money to give players a boost in their match.

Obviously, this is a bit less involved than players would like. TheDudeofDudez is upset that “nothing cool happens” in the event, and with it meant to set up the final fight between Stitch and the CIA, it is understandable that fans are disappointed. The 80s Action Heroes event, for example, featured a special currency in the form of Rambo’s dog tags. It also featured special challenges to complete in Nakatomi Plaza, so by comparison, there is very little depth to The Numbers.

Despite most comments being equally negative, a few players are optimistic about the upcoming All Hallow’s Eve event. If it is anything like Haunting of Verdansk, players should enjoy it much more than The Numbers.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
