Apex Legends has tried out many different ways to expand the story of its in-game characters and the world of the game as a whole. The game regularly releases digital comics accompanying each new season's Battle Pass and Respawn often features animated trailers for its newest Legends. With the game's tenth competitive season in full swing, Respawn recently announced a new way for players to learn about their favorite characters, with the first edition starring Bloodhound.
Since its release in 2019, Apex Legends has carved out its own unique niche among its legions of battle royale contemporaries with its iconic characters and abilities that make each Legend play unique from one another. Character abilities are widely varied with some providing enhanced mobility and re-positioning while other Legends can heal their teammates or control their enemy's movements. The game puts an emphasis on the unique personalities and stories of its characters and the newest event will put the spotlight on presenting story through normal gameplay.

Respawn recently announced the first venture in a new series of events titled 'Apex Chronicles' focusing on providing mini story events centered around gameplay and challenges. The first of these challenges will follow one of the game's default Legends, Bloodhound, as they struggle with the fate of their own deteriorating homeworld. Players will be able to start the new series of story-related challenges on the World's Edge map by finding a white raven while playing as Bloodhound which triggers the quest.
All challenges featured within the event will be unique to Bloodhound and players must be playing in a non-ranked Battle Royale match to trigger the event. Players will be given unique challenges from others playing as Bloodhound to prevent player challenges from overlapping and checkpoints will allow players to complete the challenges across multiple matches. Completing the Apex Chronicles event will gift players with a plethora of rewards as well, granting Battle Pass Stars for completing chapters and three Bloodhound-themed Apex packs for finishing the event.
Apex Legends' run-and-gun battle royale gameplay masks the significant depth of the game's characters and worlds. The game's multiple different maps each feature a different world within the Apex universe and the game frequently features events to delve into each Legend's backstory. Character development and lore continues to play a core part in the development of Apex Legends as a game with each season changing up the game's maps and developing the stories of the worlds more. Apex Legends' cast of unique characters and worlds lends itself to story-based game development and the game remains one of the top battle royales in the industry for its commitment to its niche.
Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. Mobile, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S versions are currently in development.
