Kumail Nanjiani falls back on his comedy roots in an automotive Eternals ad that sees Bollywood star Kingo endure some relatable problems.

As Marvel Studios continues its steady output of Phase Four content and Eternals is lined up as next month’s big blockbuster, it’s no surprise to see the film being used for promotional purposes with other brands, as is the case with Kumail Nanjiani's new car ad for Lexus, which includes a couple of movie Easter eggs.

The Eternals are perhaps the most puzzling piece of the Marvel Studios’ Phase Four plans, as the gang of powerful extraterrestrial beings is relatively unknown, which might be the reason why they were saved as the last superheroes to get their own introductory movie. However, one of the perks of a film starring multiple heroes is having so many contrasting personalities as part of the plot, and judging from Nanjiani’s demeanor in the Lexus ad, fans might start getting an idea of what Kingo is all about.

In the ad, Nanjiani can be seen driving his superfast V8-equipped Lexus IS 500 F Sporton on the way to whatever world-ending Deviant threat the Eternals are facing, and possibly showing a bit of the sense of humor his character will bring to the table, all while he struggling to find a parking spot. It must be noted that Kingo is wearing his civilian clothes instead of his Eternals costume that was recently shown, but he does get a couple of phone calls from his superpowered friends.

Besides dealing with the usual pains of city parking, which ought to become worse during a Celestials apocalypse, Kingo gets a text from Sersi (Gemma Chan) and a couple of calls from Sprite, with the latter even being voiced by Lia McHugh during the call. It’s worth noting that Sprite’s call is being dialed from a UK phone number, which might mean that’s where she resides in this modern age.

London is where Ikaris (Richard Madden), Sersi, and Dane Whitman (Kit Harington) live, as the latter two’s work as museum curators will serve as the basis from which the movie’s love triangle blossoms. Madden’s character has been teased as the Eternal who's most detached from human society, making Sprite’s threat of snitching on the Bollywood star even more meaningful in the video.

While the ad is meant for the American market, it wouldn’t have any problems getting past Russia’s strict ratings for Eternals since it doesn't feature Phastos, the MCU’s first openly gay hero. With so many characters in the mix, it’s no surprise that Eternals will be longer than most Marvel Studios films so far.

Eternals will be released exclusively in theaters on November 5, 2021
