In the few days that Far Cry 6 has been available for players to purchase, users have found a cacophony of secrets and hidden content. As to be expected from an open-world Ubisoft game, Far Cry 6 has plenty of aesthetic details for players to admire. Although, some of these secrets are a bit more personal to the developers than others, as one former Far Cry 6 dev recently reported.
For some players, it's easy to forget just how involved developers are when making any given game. Over the years, there have been several games that feature tributes to members of the development team. For instance, in the Borderlands 3: Bounty of Blood DLC, there's an Easter Egg that has a gigantic picture of the development team on the wall, symbolizing the team's interpersonal relationships before the COVID-19 pandemic first began. However, the Far Cry 6 Easter Egg pertains to an individual developer.

Tim Timmins, a former game director for Far Cry 6, shared a story of how his pet cat, Totoro, died during the game's development. As a way to permanently immortalize Timmins' cat, the dev team has pieces of graffiti plastered all over the open world of Yara depicting Totoro sleeping with Timmins' other cat, Yoshi. It's a wonderful tribute that most players would likely never have known about otherwise.
There's likely countless other similar tributes or hidden details with personal history tied back to the development team of Far Cry 6. Plenty of other games include tributes to various outside elements that indirectly correlate with the game itself. Take for example, the numerous tributes to Chadwick Boseman in Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
It will be interesting to see what else players manage to find within Far Cry 6 in the upcoming days. Plenty of players have already discovered Far Cry 6's secret ending, in addition to many other hidden details scattered throughout the open-world. Though, one thing that has many players excited is Far Cry 6's upcoming DLC campaigns.
The Far Cry 6 DLC will let players control three villains from previous Far Cry games. While these stories will most likely be self-containted, it will be interesting to see how much more depth is given to each of these memorable characters, including potential variance in gameplay mechanics. As of right now, there is no confirmed release date for any of the campaigns, but following the release of Far Cry 6, they will likely release soon.
Far Cry 6 is available now on Amazon Luna, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
