Destiny 2's Wish-Ender Exotic bow is experiencing a resurgence in popularity thanks to a glitch that boosts its damage. The bow, typically only useful in situational PvP moments and in destroying Corrupted Eggs hidden throughout the game world, has found itself at the peak of its usage.
The glitch increases the damage per arrow to nearly three times its intended value, a similar glitch that Destiny 2 players experience with the Wish Ender in 2019. Now, the Exotic primary weapon that is typically next to useless in PvE activities is dealing damage akin to what special weapons output (sniper rifles, shotguns, etc.), and it is doing so without the use of special ammo, a limited resource in the game.

One Destiny 2 content creator, Ehroar, created a video assessing the bow's new unintended damage capabilities. He found that each precision shot fired from the bow does 28,910 damage to powerful enemies' thus leading to a damage per second of 20,160 on more challenging enemies. The bow is also capable of dealing out a total of nearly 2 million damage over the entirety of its reserves, a number entirely unheard of when it comes to even special and power weapons, let alone primaries. That means the Wish-Ender currently allows players to one-shot nearly every enemy in the game aside from mini-bosses and bosses.
Naturally, players are already doing their best to take advantage of this accidental buff before it is too late. Pairing the Wish-Ender with high damage special and heavy weapons should make endgame content a breeze, but it is worth noting that this damage buff does not work against other Guardians, whether in Crucible or Gambit. The bow still works as intended in all PvP activities, but as long as players use it against the PvE combatants in Gambit, it will still work in that regard.
Bungie is usually quick to disable or patch out exploits that provide an unintentional benefit to the player, so a fix for this glitch should be expected soon. Exploits like these can ruin the feeling of success and reward after finishing tougher Destiny 2 content such as Grandmaster Nightfalls, and it is definitely for the better that mistakes such as this get fixed as soon as possible. There will be some that do take advantage of the moment though for others that don't like the cheap feeling of using unintentionally powerful guns and abilities, the Wish-Ender should be easy enough to avoid using.
Destiny 2 is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
