It's wise to get this out of the way first: Yes, the MG42 is the worst gun to reload in all of Call of Duty: Vanguard. Players coming from other games that have appropriately conditioned themselves to reload immediately after each fight will hate this gun and should steer clear of it until they've untrained themselves of this normally good habit.
