At the Square Enix Presents showcase, Square Enix officially announces Life is Strange: True Colors along with its release date.
Outriders releases a 101 trailer detailing everything players should know about the game, such as its story, gameplay, and combat mechanics.
People Can Fly launches a new trailer for Outriders at the Square Enix Presents event today, showcasing the game's vast and brutal world.

A new Mass Effect Legendary Edition video shows off exactly why Captain Anderson is the best Space Dad. The latest snippet shows off the various improvements made to the third game in particular, which is evident with the details added on the broken glass and the light interaction with the roaring fire.

In the beginning of Mass Effect 3, things go downhill in a hurry when the Reapers arrive. What was supposed to be a meeting of the military minds ends up becoming a fight for survival as Anderson and Commander Shepard battle their way across Earth to get to the Normandy to rally the troops. Mass Effect 3 has always been the "prettiest" of the three games, for obvious reasons, but the tiny details changed make the world of a difference. The paneling detail is far more intricate than the original, and the glass realism is much more prevalent. While this attention to detail doesn't make or break the game, it does show off how the smallest of alterations can sometimes make the biggest difference

BioWare also shared the same clip on Twitter, which is where I first spotted it, but that social media platform absolutely destroys video quality, so the Instagram post is a better representation of the visual changes.

For those newcomers to the world of Mass Effect, welcome! For a little backstory, Captain Anderson is a human war hero and the original captain of the SSV Normandy, a ship that later becomes an iconic staple in the series. He is like a father figure to Shepard and is one of the best characters in the entire trilogy despite not being a playable character or a fixed staple aboard the ship.

His backstory is also incredibly interesting, especially regarding his history with Khalee Sanders and Saren, the latter being the enemy in the first game. You can learn more about him and the rest of the expanded Mass Effect lore with our deep dive here

Scarlet Nexus Is Getting An Anime

Written by

Many game franchises are tapping into the anime world to give the stories, worlds, and characters to life. Scarlet Nexus, the upcoming JRPG by Bandai Namco, seems like an obvious fit, as the game already looks like an anime. The new show is scheduled to land sometime this year. The best way to announce a new anime is obviously with a teaser trailer, so you can take a look at that right here!

Other brands like Castlevania, Dota, and more are already leveraging their gaming IPs to carve out space in the animation world. Remember Captain N: The Game Master? Or the old Zelda cartoon? Games are cool in the animation world! Scarlet Nexus is a game about using mind powers and combining them with swords and weapons, so that’s pretty much the most anime thing ever already. In the game, players unlock brain powers, command psychokinesis, and fling cars and other giant objects. In typical JRPG fashion

The show is being produced by Sunrise, known for many popular and lauded anime offerings, including Cowboy Bebop, Witch Hunter Robin, Gundam, and more. Cowboy Bebop is one of the best anime titles out there so if you haven’t seen it, it’s probably time to go watch it before the Netflix live action series pulls a Death Note on it.

While there isn’t a ton of information on the Scarlet Nexus anime series available right now, you can check out a few of the characters and voice actors over on the official site here. We know that Junya Enoki is voicing Yuito Sumeragi and that Asame Seto is voicing Kasane Randall. Without the context of the game, it’s hard to tell exactly what kind of importance these characters have to the bigger picture, but given that they’re highlighted it’s a fair assumption that they’ll be the main protagonists of the adventure, using their “brain punk” abilities to wreak havoc on otherworldly aberrations.

Are you excited for Scarlet Nexus as a game, an anime, or maybe even both? What games would you like to see get the anime treatment? Let us know in the comments!

Outriders is a looter shooter from People Can Fly that offers wild powers, an RPG-influenced narrative, and some pretty impressive weapon designs. Following the positive feedback given after a successful Outriders demo period, Square Enix has shown off even more about the upcoming shooter in the company's most recent showcase.

"Running from a planet that considers us prey" opens up the latest Outriders video showing off more about the dangerous wildlife that players will encounter. Outriders is a large world that players will have to survive in, but bandits aren't the only dangerous aspect that will become a problem. The video also explores more areas of this "Hell off Earth," including a closer look at combat and the different biomes players will endure.

Enoch is far from a cozy homestead; it's dangerous, it's bloody, and it's a place that will test your mettle in combat. Luckily, we can take to this world with friends as a co-op adventure or solo for those that like a challenge.

Life is Strange: True Colors is the latest Life is Strange game in the franchise and Deck Nine showed off the reveal trailer during today's Square Enix Presents showcase. The latest story is an all-new tale starring a brand new protagonist and a new power. For those that were fans of the original duo with Max and Chloe, it looks like this new narrative will feel similar to that.

Players will take on the role of Alex Chen, a Haven Springs native that had to suppress her "curse." Her psychic powers are different than what we've seen with Max; instead, Alex has the power of empathy. While some may laugh, the powers in action are intense, allowing her to experience, absorb, and even manipulate powerful emotions in those around her. She can see auras and following the "accident" that resulted in her brother's death, her power comes roaring to the surface in an effort to find the truth behind her brother's death and a dark secret that lurks beneath the town's surface.

Also confirmed was the tidbit that unlike previous games in Life is Strange, True Colors will not be episodic. Instead, players can unravel the mystery that is True Colors in one go.

"It has been such an honor to return to the vibrant, emotive, and impactful world of Life is Strange," says Deck Nine vice president, Jeff Litchford. "We are delighted to share this new story with you: a story of empathy, human connection, and the struggle to find a place to call home. All of the advancements of storytelling, development technology, and premium voice acting that we have made since Life is Strange: Before the storm will allow players to be more immersed in the compelling world of Life is Strange: True Colors than ever before."

Deck Nine helmed the previous entry starring the original characters of Life is Strange with Before the Storm, now the studio is back with a fresh adventure. In a special collaboration with musical start Mxmtoon, True Colors stole the spotlight with a close look at the new faces we'll meet and the stellar music that the soundtrack will have.

Life is Strange: True Colors will be available in three editions: the Standard, the Deluxe, and the Ultimate. You can learn more about the different versions right here through the game's official website. As for the game itself, True Colors arrives on September 10, 2021 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
